Wing Bank, Cambodia’s leading digital bank, has cemented its position as a regional trailblazer in financial technology, clinching two prestigious titles at the Global Banking & Finance Awards 2025.

The bank received the award for:

  • Most Innovative Leader in Digital Lending – Cambodia 2025
  • Excellence in Innovation – Savings Account Services – Cambodia 2025

This dual recognition underscores Wing Bank’s commitment to building a future where financial services are simpler, smarter, and accessible to everyone.

“These awards reflect our mission to push the boundaries of digital finance,” said Bunthe Hor, Deputy CEO of Wing Bank. “At Wing Bank, technology is not just about convenience—it’s about empowering Cambodians to achieve their financial goals with confidence.”

At the heart of this achievement is Digital Loan, a groundbreaking service that has redefined access to credit in Cambodia. Customers can now apply for a loan through the Wing Bank app in just one simple step—a process that previously required ten. Approvals happen in real time, and disbursement is immediate, with funds sent directly into the customer’s Wing Bank account. By removing the traditional barriers of paperwork, waiting time, and branch visits, Wing Bank has made borrowing as seamless as any other digital transaction.

Digital Loan offers loans of up to USD 50,000, with interest rates starting from 1 per cent per month, and repayment terms of up to three years. No collateral is required, and eligibility is determined dynamically based on the customer’s engagement with Wing Bank services. In 2025, the bank introduced Digital Loan Adventure, an interactive, gamified program designed to help customers move from non-eligible to eligible status. Every transaction—whether topping up a mobile phone, paying a utility bill, or transferring money—becomes a step toward unlocking financial access.

“We wanted to create a product that does more than provide credit—it empowers people to take control of their financial journey,” said Tallal Ur Rehman, Chief Digital Banking Officer. “With Digital Loan Adventure, we’ve turned what could feel like a rejection into an opportunity, giving customers clear, actionable steps to become eligible and move closer to their goals.”

This innovative approach to lending has positioned Wing Bank as a recognised leader in the digital finance space. The awards from the Global Banking & Finance Review are a testament to the bank’s relentless pursuit of solutions that align with the needs of a fast-changing, mobile-first economy.

Wing Bank was also honoured for its innovation in savings solutions with its Save for a Goal Account, an automated savings product designed to help customers save faster and with greater control. Available for solo savers or groups, customers can open multiple Save for a Goal Accounts to manage different financial objectives—whether for education, a new home, or a dream purchase. Users can define how much they want to save, how long they want to save for, and add funds manually or schedule automatic transfers from their chosen Wing Bank account to their Save for a Goal Account on specific dates. This flexibility ensures customers can stay disciplined and on track without effort.

“Save for a Goal Account is more than a savings feature—it’s a tool for building stronger financial habits across all generations,” said Tallal Ur Rehman. “It empowers individuals, families, and even groups to take control of their money and plan with confidence. By combining automation with flexibility, we make saving simple and achievable—whether you’re preparing for your first big purchase, securing your child’s education, or working toward long-term stability. This aligns with our mission to promote financial literacy and inclusion, helping every Cambodian move closer to their goals.”

Interest rates for Save for a Goal Accounts range from 1.50 per cent to 5.00 per cent, depending on the saving duration, with no fees and initial deposits starting from USD 5 (or KHR 20,000), making the product accessible to everyone.

Wing Bank’s unwavering commitment to accessibility, speed, and transparency has redefined digital banking in Cambodia, earning recognition both at home and on the global stage. From early accolades at the Cambodia Digital Awards to prestigious international honours, the bank continues to demonstrate that innovation and inclusion go hand in hand.

And this is only the beginning. As a bank that is 100 per cent Cambodian for Cambodians, Wing Bank is pushing boundaries beyond the local market and setting benchmarks regionally and internationally. Customers can expect even greater innovation, enhanced accessibility, and bold new solutions that reaffirm one promise: the future of banking is being built right here in Cambodia—and Wing Bank is leading the way.
