The Cambodian government issued a sub-decree on August 8, 2025, setting a 0 per cent tariff rate on goods imported into the Kingdom from the United States.

The new regulation, signed by Prime Minister Hun Manet, excludes used (secondhand) goods and will be implemented under procedures determined by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The move comes after the United States reduced tariffs on Cambodian goods from 49 per cent to 19 per cent, following several rounds of negotiations. The decision marks a reciprocal trade gesture amid warming bilateral relations.

Cambodia also recently nominated U.S. President, Donald Trump, for the Nobel Peace Prize, citing his role in supporting a ceasefire to end the Cambodia-Thailand border conflict.
