Twice the Triumph: Canadia Bank Wins The Asian Banker’s “Best Managed Bank in Cambodia” Award for 2025

Canadia Bank, one of Cambodia’s leading commercial banks with over 30 years of delivering exceptional financial services, has once again been honoured as the “Best Managed Bank in Cambodia” for 2025 by The Asian Banker (TAB), a recognition it previously earned in 2022. Raymond Sia, CEO and Executive Board Director, was also recognised with the Leadership Achievement Award as the Best Bank CEO for the second time.
TAB’s Global Leadership Achievement Awards, held every three years, are among the most prestigious and selective accolades in the region’s financial industry. Canadia Bank’s recognition reflects its strong performance in financial resilience, business diversification, digital innovation, and inclusive finance—contributing meaningfully to Cambodia’s economic development.
The bank’s broader track record of excellence includes TAB’s recognition as Best Retail Bank for five awarding years from 2020 to 2025, the Strongest Bank by Balance Sheet in 2019, and Best Managed Bank in 2022.
Strengthening the Three Key Business Segments
Canadia Bank continues to drive impact across its three core business segments with a strong focus on innovation, inclusion, and tailored financial solutions. In Corporate Banking, the bank enhanced its customer-centric approach by launching supply chain financing, flexible credit schemes, and a Green Financing Programme from 2022 to 2024. Strategic initiatives such as expanding transactional banking services, supporting credit restructuring, and deepening partnerships with the Credit Guarantee Corporation of Cambodia (CGCC) to finance rice exporters and millers have reinforced its leadership. The establishment of a dedicated Real Estate Financing Unit in 2024 further streamlined support for Cambodia’s growing property and construction sectors.
In SME and Consumer Banking, Canadia Bank remains a catalyst for growth and financial empowerment. Through customised financing, digital innovations, and strong engagement with associations like YEAC, CWEA, and FASMEC, the bank has helped SMEs formalise and scale. On the retail front, the bank broadened access to credit, enhanced international payment services, and partnered with the Royal Government of Cambodia to facilitate NSSF disbursements through Khmer Riel accounts—promoting financial inclusion and local currency usage. These efforts reflect Canadia Bank’s resolute commitment to serving the evolving needs of businesses and individuals nationwide.

Intensifying Commitment to Digital Transformation
Digital innovation remains a cornerstone of Canadia Bank’s growth strategy, with major investments over the years to build a robust digital ecosystem that enhances customer experience, operational efficiency, and financial inclusion. Key initiatives include the revamp of corporate internet banking, integration of open APIs, launch of new payment gateway solutions and a merchant app, and continuous enhancements to the Canadia Bank App, with a more seamless version launched in 2025. The bank also expanded its digital footprint by opening five Smart Bank Centres between 2022 and 2023, serving as modern hubs equipped with full-service banking and self-service technologies—reinforcing its commitment to accessible, future-ready banking.
People and Community at the Centre of Success
Canadia Bank continues to invest in building a future-ready, purpose-driven workforce through comprehensive training programmes, leadership development, and digital capability initiatives for its employees. Complementing this is the deep commitment to community impact through its CSR platform, Canadia Bank Cares, which supports ESG initiatives, financial literacy, and cultural development.
“We are deeply honoured that Canadia Bank has once again been named as the Best Managed Bank in Cambodia, a recognition we also earned in 2022. At the same time, I’m humbled to receive the Leadership Achievement Award 2025 again as Best Bank CEO from The Asian Banker,” said Raymond Sia, CEO and Executive Board Director of Canadia Bank.
“These accolades reflect the unwavering dedication and hard work of all my colleagues at Canadia Bank, as well as the trust of our customers and the strong support we have received from all relevant stakeholders—including our Chairman of Canadia Bank, Lok Neak Okhna Dr. Pung Kheav Se, our Board of Directors, and our Regulators.”
He continued:
“Over the past few years, we’ve focused on strengthening our core business segments, accelerating digital transformation, and investing in our people and communities. From launching innovative financial solutions and expanding digital banking to empowering SMEs and advancing financial literacy, our journey has been driven by a commitment to inclusive growth and sustainable impact. We remain focused on shaping the future of banking in Cambodia with purpose, innovation, and resilience.”
