Turkish Airlines Launches Flights from Istanbul to Phnom Penh
Turkish Airlines, the carrier that flies to more countries than any other, has taken a further step to strengthen its global reach by launching flights to Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, in line with its strategic goals.
The first flight from Istanbul to Phnom Penh landed at Techo International Airport on 11 December 2025.
With this new destination, Cambodia becomes the seventh country served by the flag carrier in Southeast Asia, and Phnom Penh joins the network as the eleventh city in the region.
Strengthening commercial ties between Türkiye and Cambodia and contributing to the economic growth of this emerging market, the Phnom Penh route expands the airline’s Far East network to 20 cities and 21 airports.
This new service offers Turkish Airlines’ guests easier access to one of the key destinations in the region and once again showcases the unparalleled connectivity the Turkish flag carrier provides, as the only European airline flying to this destination. Turkish Airlines operates flights to Phnom Penh three times a week: flights from Istanbul depart on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, while return flights to Istanbul operate on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Commenting on the new route, Turkish Airlines CEO Bilal Ekşi said:
“As Turkish Airlines, we continuously expand our network connecting continents and strengthen our ties with strategic destinations.
“By adding Cambodia as the 132nd country in our unparalleled network, the launch of Phnom Penh flights marks a significant step forward in achieving this goal. Our flights to Cambodia will present new opportunities for both tourism and business. Additionally, as the only European carrier flying to this destination, we will further solidify our leadership in the region.”

H.E. Dr Mao Havannall, Minister in-Charge of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation, stated during the event that the establishment of this new route is not only an important milestone for Cambodia’s aviation sector but also a symbol of the deepening friendship and cooperation between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of Türkiye.
“Through the strategic hub of Istanbul, one of the world’s most important gateways linking Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, Cambodia is now more conveniently connected to global markets, business centres, and cultural destinations,” he said.
He added that the launch comes at a meaningful time, as Cambodia continues to enhance international air connectivity in support of the Pentagonal Strategy of the Royal Government and the National Air Transport Policy adopted by the Plenary Meeting of the Ministerial Council on 4 April 2025. “Increased air links are vital for promoting tourism, attracting investment, facilitating trade, and creating new opportunities for our people.”
Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, stands as one of the region’s most important tourism and trade centres, with its historical fabric, cultural heritage, and vibrant city life. Situated at the meeting point of the Mekong and Tonle Sap rivers, the city offers visitors a rich cultural experience with its Royal Palace, National Museum, and traditional markets.
As part of its special launch promotion, guests can book tickets until 10 February 2026 for travel until 31 October 2026, with fares starting from USD 699 for flights from Istanbul to Phnom Penh and USD 679 for flights from Phnom Penh to Istanbul.
