More than 150 delegates from the European Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (EuroCham), CCI France Cambodge, and the American Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (AmCham) visited Techo International Airport (TIA) in March 2025. TIA is Cambodia’s newest international gateway, set to serve Phnom Penh.

The delegation, including representatives from France, Germany, Italy, Scandinavian, and Benelux countries, was welcomed by Canadia Group & CAIC Director, Oknha Charles Vann, and OCIC Vice President, Thierry Tea. Key delegates included representatives from Delta Airlines, Maersk, Danone, CMA CGM, Mekong Strategic Capital, Zuellig Pharma, CBRE, DFDL and more.

"With new airline connections on the horizon for Cambodia, we’re pleased to see the progress toward TIA’s opening this year. This visit showed how local stakeholders like OCIC and CAIC are bringing this project to life," said Casey Barnett, President of AmCham Cambodia.

"Cambodia has made impressive strides in infrastructure and human capital, driven by the vision and dedication of its people. We are pleased to see continued collaboration between Cambodian and French businesses in supporting the country’s newest gateway," added Charles Julliard, Executive Director of CCI France Cambodge.

Strengthening International Partnerships in Infrastructure

The development of the new Phnom Penh airport is a collaborative effort, with CAIC partnering with Foster + Partners (UK) for design, Lagardère Travel Retail (France) for duty-free, along with Newrest, ATS Group LBL, Archetype, Hafele (Germany), and U.S. firms OTIS and Caterpillar for key systems and equipment. The project showcases Cambodia’s ability to develop world-class infrastructure through strong collaboration with international partners.

In September 2024, TIA successfully completed its first technical test flights, paving the way for full operations. Set to open in 2025, its launch aligns with OCIC’s 25th anniversary, marking a milestone in the group's contributions to Cambodia’s growth.
