Thousands Join In Yeo’s Cheng Bou Leong’s Chinese New Year Celebrations As It Unveils Limited ‘Year Of The Dragon’ Edition Can
Yeo’s Cambodia hosted a series of fun events across the Cambodian capital to ring in the Year of the Dragon with its loyal customers, while unveiling its Chinese New Year themed can.
More than 8,000 revellers enjoyed ushering in the Year of the Dragon with an uplifting roar as they joined in with a raft of exciting events across the capital hosted by Yeo’s Cheng Bou Leong soft drink to celebrate Chinese New Year with the launch of a stylish new can.
Between February 1 and 11, more than 8,000 people got into the festive swing as they joined in with a series of fun events held across the capital. Laughter rang through the air as customers at various night markets, street food spots and barbecue places were treated to a lively Chinese mob dance.
Energy was also bursting from a live stage, where people were invited to take part in games, including a balloon blowing challenge. Participants were treated to a free limited edition can of Cheng Bou Leong and a red envelope (ang pao).
Shoppers at supermarkets across Phnom Penh were also treated to a surprise, with Yeo’s setting up camp to ring in the new year and showcase Cheng Bou Leong’s festive can design. The iconic red can symbolises joy, celebration, vitality, success and good fortune, while the colourful dragon pays tribute to the new year.
Attendees were given the chance to sample the refreshing taste of the healthy herbal tea that uses extracts from a special plant to help reduce body heat. Consumers who bought one case of Cheng Bou Leong at Makro Sen Sok during the campaign received one red envelope (ang pao) containing money or a premium gift. Those who bought one case during the event at Aeon Mall Phnom Penh or Aeon Mall Sen Sok were gifted with two lucky red envelopes.
“Chinese New Year is a time to celebrate, and Yeo’s Cambodia wanted to truly embrace the festive spirit by designing a unique can for this special occasion. We also wanted to share the festivities with our customers through a range of events,” said Ozgur Simsek, Yeo’s Managing Director of Emerging Markets.
“We were delighted to see so many people having fun while enjoying Cheng Bou Leong. We received a really positive response from audiences across Phnom Penh, who were impressed with the new dragon design, which they said was wonderfully festive. We’re happy to be able to present a creative new look to celebrate the season, while continuing to provide the great taste of Cheng Bou Leong.”
