The Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia (SERC) held the second Investor Forum for civil servants on August 27, 2025, aimed at strengthening knowledge of long-term investment in the Cambodian securities market.

The event was organised in collaboration with Royal Group Securities Plc., along with the support of the CSX.

Presided over by H.E. Sou Socheat, Director General of the SERC, the forum brought together officials from ministries and government institutions to learn about investment opportunities and practical trading through the Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX) Trade application.

Underlining the market’s solid performance in the first half of 2025, the SERC Director General shared:

Our securities market now has over 60,000 investors, with a growth of around 5,000 new investors recorded this semester.

He added that the CSX currently has 11 equity-listed companies, and 14 bond-listed companies, with a condominium developer (Picasso City Garden) also expected to list soon. Furthermore, during the first semester of 2025, Cambodia’s securities market recorded a trade volume of 12 million shares, equivalent to USD 13 million, with daily trade now averaging between USD 100,000 and USD 150,000.

Encouraging participants to view investing as a gradual process, Sivansak Tieng, Chief Operating Officer of Royal Group Securities Plc., stressed the concept of “securities savings”.

“Many people think investing requires a lot of money or specialist skills, and that stocks are too risky, but your first trade is really an opportunity to learn and to build financial habits,” he explained. “Like your savings in a bank, you can start small, just buying shares monthly in companies you believe in. Over time, you will see your wealth grow through share gains and dividends.”

The Investor Forum reflects the ongoing efforts of regulators and market participants to enhance financial literacy and encourage wider participation in Cambodia’s developing securities sector.
