SERC and SIAC Co-Organise Workshop on Securities Sector Investment Tools

The Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia (SERC) and the Securities Investors Association of Cambodia (SIAC) jointly hosted a workshop titled “Understanding Instruments and Financing Investment in the Securities Sector” on 19 June 2025, at the Non-Bank Financial Services Authority (FSA) Building.
Supported by the Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX), ACLEDA Securities Co., Ltd., Benjaran Asset Management (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. and Gold Financial Global Investment Co., Ltd., the event drew 122 participants from FSA departments, other regulatory units and SIAC membership.
Presiding over the session were H.E. Sou Socheat, Director‑General of SERC and Delegate of the Royal Government, H.E. Dr. Vin Pheakdey, SERC Deputy Director‑General, and SIAC President Yoeung Virakboth.
Presentations covered equity, bonds, collective investment schemes, derivatives and the basics of digital‑asset trading. Attendees received a complimentary Investor Identification Number from SERC and a free trading account with ACLEDA Securities, credited with two shares of ACLEDA Bank Plc for practice purposes.
“Investing in the securities market requires to have knowledge related to the securities sector, as it provided a foundation for conducting analysis before making any investment decisions in financial instruments that align with the level of understanding and risk tolerance licensed, approved and/or accredited company by the SERC. In addition, the securities market is also a place where we can learn more about personal financial management to increase passive income,” H.E. Sou Socheat told participants.
Yoeung Virakboth added
Learning should be consistently linked to regular practice to enhance knowledge and develop additional skills. Meanwhile, as an investor, you should seek profits through investing in regulated investment projects in order to generate income that exceeds expenses.
Speakers from SERC, CSX, ACLEDA Securities, Banjaran Asset Management and Gold Financial Global Investment highlighted opportunities for investors to diversify portfolios and build sustainable passive‑income streams.
