Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor, the award-winning luxury hotel in Siem Reap Cambodia, has introduced a new fleet of electric tuk-tuks to offer an an innovative and eco-friendly transportation option for guests.

Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor General Manager Joseph Colina said: “Sustainability is top of mind in everything we do at Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor – from sourcing local ingredients in our restaurants and eliminating single-use plastics to other initiatives aimed at reducing our carbon footprint – and we are thrilled to be able to offer our guests these eco-friendly tuk-tuk passenger vehicles.”

The new tuk-tuks are manufactured by ONiON Mobility, a green transport company headquartered in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh and partnership between Raffles and ONiON underscores a shared commitment to environmental sustainability, said the hotel.

The hotel unveiled the ONiON T1 vehicles which come in a white exterior and protect passengers from the hot tropical sun and rainy downpours, with the interior providing enough space for a comfortable ride for those visiting Siem Reap and its surroundings, including the UNESCO World Heritage wonder of Angkor Wat which is the biggest tourist attraction in the Kingdom.

In 2024, Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor unveiled a series of exclusive ‘Curated Journeys’ offering guests new ways to experience Siem Reap’s rich culture and history and several of these excursions will be available via the new electric tuk-tuks.

These curated tours include a ‘Bespoke Temple Dinner’ at the temple complex of Angkor; a ‘Lost Civilisations of Angkor by Vespa’ tour, and a ‘Meet the Elephants of Angkor’, with a visit to the elephant sanctuary, as well as the ‘Khmer Culinary Discovery’ offering a deep dive into the culture and traditions of authentic Cambodian cuisine. The "Siem Reap Art Tour’ explores the city’s art scene; and ‘Reflections of Angkor’ offers an opportunity to develop one’s photography skills.
