Paint Labs Trading Co., Ltd. and D.Q.D Manufacturing Co., Ltd., consolidated under the joint name “Paint Labs”, have entered a strategic partnership with Jotun (Cambodia) Ltd. (Jotun Cambodia) to elevate the manufacturing and trading landscape in Cambodia. 

This collaboration aims to leverage the expertise and innovative capabilities of both organisations to drive growth, operational excellence, and market expansion, particularly in the production of high-quality skim coats. 

Key Objectives Of The Partnership

Together, Paint Labs and Jotun Cambodia aim to:

  1. Streamline Manufacturing Processes in Cambodia: Paint Labs will invest in optimising and modernising local manufacturing capabilities with the latest technology and practices. This collaboration aims to continuously raise the quality standard of skim coat product offerings in Cambodia.
  2. Develop a Technically Skilled and Digitally Savvy Workforce: The partnership will emphasise the development of a skilled labour force equipped with technical and digital competencies. This initiative aims to elevate the construction, real estate, and manufacturing sectors by providing training programs that cultivate the next generation of highly qualified workers.
  3. Establish State-of-the-Art Facilities for Industry 4.0: Paint Labs, with Jotun’s technical support, will lead the investment in establishing advanced, automated production facilities in alignment with Industry 4.0 standards. These facilities are expected to enhance efficiency, productivity, and product quality.
  4. Deliver high quality Jotun products in Cambodia: Paint Labs will create a compliant and reputable trading entity focused on delivering high-quality Jotun products in the country. Paint Labs team members will be trained by a highly professional Jotun Cambodia team to ensure Paint Labs delivers the best services in the country in accordance with Jotun's best practices.
  5. Expand Product Offerings Beyond Decorative Paints: The collaboration will expand the distribution of Jotun Protective coatings, which is highly regarded as the best coating solution in the world. This effort will include technical supervision, provision of equipment, and advisory services to residential, commercial, and industrial projects, ensuring long-lasting quality and customer satisfaction from the Paint Labs team. 
  6. Uphold a Collaborative and Open Market Philosophy: Jotun Cambodia’s commitment to an open market ensures that no exclusivity or preferential treatment is given to any Jotun authorised partner and dealers. Through this partnership, both organisations aim to enhance the market by adhering to rigorous environmental and safety standards and promoting best practices.

Renowned Team Leading The Way Forward

The partnership between Paint Labs and Jotun Cambodia was marked by a ceremonial event, highlighting the collaborative spirit and shared vision of advancing Cambodia’s manufacturing and trading sectors.

Oknha Kith Lychanphanna (Phanna), Chairman of Paint Labs, led the proceedings on behalf of the team. Phanna is an accomplished entrepreneur and strategic investor known for his leadership as Founder and Chairman of Kith Ly Investments Co., Ltd. (KLYP Investments). Under his guidance, KLYP Investments has diversified investments into various industries including hospitality, real estate, entertainment, trade, and manufacturing, focusing on sustainable and impactful ventures that contribute to Cambodia’s economic growth. 

KLYP Investments also offers customised strategies to assist a wide range of customers in achieving optimum risk-adjusted returns within the parameters they provide, while leveraging the company’s wide network of partners in the public and private sectors, both domestically and globally.

Tomas Pokorny, CEO of Paint Labs, also played a central role in the event. Tomas is a well-established leader in the FinTech industry, recognised for his contributions as the co-founder and CEO of Pi Pay, Cambodia’s B2B and B2B2C payments processing and payment technology company. His extensive experience in technology, payments, and the investment sector in Cambodia and abroad, has made him a key figure in the country’s financial and digital transformation, on which he is capitalising via the D.Q.D Consulting Co., Ltd. advisory firm, lending a hand to support the digitalisation of manufacturing and trading verticals as well.

Joining them were other key board members of Paint Labs' companies:

  • Adrien Médeville, a seasoned expert in strategic investment.
  • Tea Thierry, an experienced investor, with Negocia Capital, having a focus in development and sustainability, including tech, real estate and aviation.
  • Pablo Caprile, an international investor and advisor specialising in market expansion and growth, who also leads one of Cambodia's largest startups, iCare.

Representing JOTUN Cambodia was Engin Sener, General Manager and transformative visionary of the paints industry across the region, alongside other senior executives. This high-level representation reflects the commitment of both organisations to achieving sustainable growth and strengthening Cambodia’s manufacturing and trading capabilities.
