Oakwood Premier Phnom Penh, PhilCham Cambodia Host Salu-Salo sa Pasko Christmas Luncheon

This Christmas season, Oakwood Premier Phnom Penh, in collaboration with PhilCham Cambodia, brings the heart of a Filipino Christmas to life through Salu-Salo sa Pasko, a special Christmas luncheon taking place on 25 December 2025—a gathering rooted in tradition and guided by the enduring message of hope, unity, and shared humanity.

On 22 December, Oakwood Premier Phnom Penh and PhilCham Cambodia paid a courtesy visit to the Philippine Embassy in Cambodia to formally introduce the Guest Chefs who will be curating the culinary experience for the event. 

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Genina Marion T. Rafal, Charge d’Affaires, a.i., whose support reflects the Embassy’s continued commitment to initiatives that uplift Filipino culture and strengthen community ties, especially during the Christmas season—a time when hope is most deeply felt.

The Christmas luncheon will be led by Jose Mari Medrano of Citadines Bacolod City and Arnel Gapud of Ascott Bonifacio Global City. Together, the Guest Chefs will present a thoughtfully curated Filipino Christmas spread inspired by cherished holiday traditions—where every dish carries a story of resilience, generosity, and hope passed from one generation to the next. Festive favourites, including the iconic lechon, will be prepared with refined techniques while remaining deeply rooted in authentic Filipino flavours.

Anchored in the Filipino tradition of salu-salo—a gathering where families and communities come together around the table—Salu-Salo sa Pasko is envisioned as more than a luncheon. It is a moment of renewal for Filipinos living far from home, a space where memories are rekindled, and a reminder that even across borders, the spirit of Christmas endures. 

By bringing together the diplomatic corps, business leaders, and the wider community, the celebration becomes a shared expression of hope—one that transcends nationality and speaks to our common longing for connection and belonging.
