Oakwood Premier Phnom Penh, in cooperation with Intercare Hospital and the National Blood Bank of Cambodia, hosted a blood donation drive on August 10, 2024, at the Oakwood Premier Conference Hall.

More than 60 people came to give blood and support the national effort in maintaining a stable blood supply for those in need.

Dr. Demy Reyes, General Surgeon and Oncology of Intercare Hospital, also conducted a Health Talk on Cancer during the blood drive.

According to a press release issued by the hotel, the event is part of Oakwood's ongoing commitment to community service and social responsibility, reflecting a spirit of compassion and solidarity among residents, guests, and the wider Phnom Penh community.

"We are honoured to work alongside Intercare Hospital and the National Blood Bank of Cambodia for such a vital cause," said Demian Jung, General Manager of Oakwood Premier Phnom Penh. "Blood donation is a simple yet powerful act that can save lives. The need for blood is always present, and we’re thankful that so many in our community understand the importance of donating blood and helping people in need.”

Intercare Hospital provided medical staff to ensure the safety and comfort of all donors throughout the process. The National Blood Bank of Cambodia remained the overseer of the collection, processing, and distribution of all donated blood, ensuring that it reaches those most in need.

The blood drive followed high standards of safety and infection control, with precautions put in place to help protect the health of all those in attendance.

All participating donors also received a token of appreciation from Oakwood Premier Phnom Penh, Intercare Hospital and the National Blood Bank of Cambodia.

The success of the event was made possible through the assistance of Intercare Hospital, the National Blood Bank of Cambodia, One Park, Cambodia Natural Gas Corporation, Magellan Com (Cambodia), and Boncafé.
