Following the success of its inaugural blood donation drive, Oakwood Premier Phnom Penh hosted the second edition of its flagship CSR initiative on July 5, 2025 — “United For Blood: Saving Lives Together – Year 2.” In partnership with Intercare Hospital and the National Blood Bank of Cambodia, this year’s campaign saw significant growth—welcoming over 115 registered donors and collecting nearly 80 bags of blood to support the nation’s medical needs.

Anchored in a mission to foster public health and community solidarity, this year’s event expanded significantly in scale and reach. Strengthening its focus on multi-sector collaboration, the initiative brought together a growing network of corporate, civic, and media partners who share a commitment to meaningful social impact.

In addition to blood collection, the event also featured a special Community Health Talk led by Ms. Damaris Fame Diputado-Suarez, Occupational Therapist from InterCare Hospital. Focusing on practical workplace wellness and mental health, the session emphasised the importance of preventative care and daily well-being strategies—topics particularly relevant to the event’s diverse group of donors and corporate attendees.

A key highlight of this year’s drive was the involvement of the Malaysian Business Chamber in Cambodia (MBCC), led by its President Okhna Tan Khee Meng, who was present at the event to show his support. The program also saw valuable partnerships with Summer Bay Beach Club & Cabins Sihanoukville by Preference, Cambodian Natural Gas Corporation (CNGC), and APD Bank.

Media coverage was supported by leading outlets including Khmer Times, Cambodia Investment Review, B2B Cambodia, Find Your News Cambodia, Book Me+, and Studio 80s.

“When members of the business community unite for a cause as vital as blood donation, we reaffirm our responsibility to serve beyond commerce,” stated Okhna Tan Khee Meng, President of MBCC. “We commend Oakwood for leading by example and fostering a culture of care, contribution, and collaboration.”

Demian Jung, General Manager of Oakwood Premier Phnom Penh, underscored the continued growth of the initiative:

“‘United by Blood’ is no longer just a campaign—it has become a platform for community transformation. The overwhelming participation we witnessed this year is a reflection of our shared belief that even the smallest act can have a profound impact on someone’s life.”

Representing The Ascott Limited, Ms. Clémence Lacmant, Operations Manager for Vietnam, Cambodia & Myanmar, expressed her support for the initiative:

“This initiative reflects our continued dedication through the Ascott CARES program. Oakwood Premier Phnom Penh, together with Summer Bay Beach Club & Cabins Sihanoukville by Preference, shows how hospitality can be about more than just great service—it's also about caring for people and making a positive difference.”

With its second successful edition, “United by Blood: Saving Lives Together” continues to demonstrate the power of unity in action. As Oakwood Premier Phnom Penh strengthens its CSR footprint in Cambodia, the initiative reaffirms the belief that saving lives is not just an act—it is a shared responsibility.
