Mitsubishi Electric Officially Launches Cambodia Branch and Commercial Representative Office in Phnom Penh

(Phnom Penh) On May 20, 2025, the grand opening ceremony of Branch of Mitsubishi Elevator (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Commercial Representative Office of Mitsubishi Electric Asia Pte Ltd was held at the Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra Hotel.
This investment signifies Mitsubishi Electric’s deepening commitment to the ASEAN region. As a global leader in electrical and electronic equipment manufacturing, with annual revenues of approximately ¥5 trillion (around USD 33 billion), the company has now established a strategic operational presence in Cambodia. The move is expected to pave the way for a new era in the country’s air conditioning, elevator, and broader electrical equipment sectors.
Mr. Toshimitsu Ito, Chief Representative for the Asia Pacific Region of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation and Managing Director of Mitsubishi Electric Asia Pte Ltd (Singapore) delivered opening remarks.

He described Mitsubishi Electric as a diversified manufacturer with a global footprint, offering a wide range of technologies including semiconductors, home appliances, building systems, industrial machinery, and aerospace solutions. He emphasized the Asia-Pacific region's pivotal role in talent development and revenue contribution, positioning it as a cornerstone of the company’s global expansion.
Mr. Ito further noted that Mitsubishi Electric has made steady progress in Cambodia through strong partnerships, especially in air-conditioning and elevator solutions, which are gaining increasing recognition and trust in the local market. He highlighted Cambodia’s demographic growth, social stability, and rising demand for infrastructure and improved living standards as key indicators of market potential.

The event was graced by H.E. Atsushi Ueno, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kingdom of Cambodia;
