A job and internship fair called ‘Joblink’ was planned to be held at the Factory Phnom Penh on October 12-13, 2024, designed for students and young professionals between the ages of 20 to 30 with the purpose of providing them with the best tools and opportunities for a successful career.

UPDATE - This event has now been moved to Q1 2025.

Joblink expects to attract over 4,000 visitors, featuring 100+ companies and 45+ workshop instructors. The job fair is organised with the support of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training and the National Employment Agency, as well as with the support of the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport and the Ministry of Commerce.

The idea to organise Joblink came from an understanding of the difficulties experienced by many Cambodian companies in recruiting new talent, leading to frustration and hindered growth.

"Recruitment shouldn't start when you need new talent”, said Moran Hadad, one of main Joblink's organisers. “It is an ongoing process, just like taking care of yourself every day rather than just when you're sick. Companies should continuously nurture and grow their talent pool. Joblink opens a door for dynamic and efficient recruitment where companies can connect with future employees in a fun and meaningful way, build trust, and ensure a better match for their future needs.”

Aimed to introduce a new recruitment model in Cambodia, Joblink will give companies the opportunity to connect and interact with a large pool of potential recruits, showcase their brand culture and employment identity, and start to build a dynamic recruitment database for further development.

Details On The Joblink Job And Internship Fair

To achieve its goals, Joblink will offer visitors three distinct zones of interaction:

Exhibition Zone: A prime space for businesses to exhibit their culture, products, and services, and interact with potential recruits through scheduled meetings and spontaneous exchanges.

Workshops Zone: Joblink features five workshop halls with over 45 different speakers and instructors, offering sessions on essential career preparation topics such as CV building, interview techniques, overcoming adversity, and more. Participating companies will have the opportunity to host workshops and share their experience and expertise.

Games & Activities Zone: Engage with potential recruits beyond traditional interviews through team-building games, traditional Khmer games, and social activities. Participating companies will have the opportunity to host and tailor a game or activity for talent scouting.

Joblink Web Application: Enhancing The Recruitment Experience

Joblink has also developed a proprietary web application designed to streamline the experience for both job seekers and companies and create greater ease overall in the recruitment process. The Joblink app allows job seekers to create an account, build a CV, and receive a unique QR code that will allow them to seamlessly interact with the companies present at the fair. Companies will also have their profile and QR codes, facilitating interactions during the event.

The main features of the Joblink Web Application include:

  • Search for a job: Searching through a database of available job openings posted by companies present at the fair.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Similar to Calendly, job seekers and companies can schedule quick, fun 20-minute interviews or meetings, ensuring efficient and meaningful connections. There is no need to bring hard opies of one's CV, as it is just a QR code scan away from being delivered to the company of choice.
  • Workshop Reservations: Job seekers can reserve their spots for workshop sessions in advance, allowing them access to valuable information about how to build a successful career. Access to workshops is granted by scanning their personal QR code, allowing for organised and structured participation.
  • Digital Passport: Job seekers can collect digital stamps from companies as they interact by scanning their QR codes, which will allow them to join companies' recruitment databases, gain a sense of achievement and connection, and potentially win numerous prizes.

“Joblink was built to bridge the gap between the Cambodian C-level working class and the vibrant and dynamic Cambodian youth. I always wondered why it was so difficult to recruit in Cambodia with such a big pool of committed, creative, and extremely capable young talents. I believe the difficulty lies in the difference of each party’s expectations, and Joblink was designed to alleviate that” added Hadad.
