A new Cambodian private island resort, JATI, will be opening in March 2025 on the island of Koh Russey spread over a 450-hectare tropical forest and located 10 minutes off the southern coast by speedboat from a private jetty, and only a 10-minute drive from Sihanoukville International Airport.

Owned and operated by HMD Asia, JATI aims to offer a Maldives-style private island experience “with a uniquely Cambodian vibe” and features 82 Khmer-inspired one-and-two-bedroom villas, some with private pools located directly on the beach, and other located in a garden setting.

The operators already own and operate numerous properties across Southeast Asia and in the Kingdom of Cambodia, including Shinta Mani Hotels in Cambodia, TRIBE hotel in Phnom Penh, Park Hyatt Siem Reap, La Residence Phou Vao in Luang Prabang, Laos,  La Residence D’Angkor in Siem Reap, and several destination restaurants in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.

A press release says, “JATI’s casual lifestyle by day contrasts with its lively beach club and dining experiences after sunset – including branches of Phnom Penh’s cool wine bar Le Manolis and the capital’s most popular steakhouse KoKo. Recreation facilities are unmatched in the region and include a racquet & sports club for tennis and pickle ball, basketball, mini golf, badminton, Thai boxing, paddle-boarding, kayaks, snorkelling and island trails for a gentle early morning or sundown stroll or bike ride.”

Other facilities at JATI include:

  • The Bamboo Spa & Gym – features Khmer-inspired treatments and modern equipment for workouts, an ice bath steam room and sauna.
  • Event Hosting – JATI offers a variety of beautiful locations to host beachfront weddings and scheduled for late 2025 is an extensive Events & Conference Centre in the jungle.
  • Seahorse Kids Club – the club offers beach adventures and games with qualified babysitting services.

There are several dining and drink options at JATI, including;  Koko Steakhouse, Le Manolis Wine Cellar, The Beach Club, Banyan Bar,  and Arun.
