The first Accor-owned ibis budget hotel in Cambodia will open on the capital's riverside in July 2022 it has been confirmed.
The ibis budget Phnom Penh Riverside will open in July 2022, "offering the brand's comfortable and contemporary design with very competitive rates" said a company statement." The Accor hotel will open in partnership with Dara Hotels Group.
The hotel will feature 322 rooms, a grab-and-go breakfast outlet, and four meeting rooms and be located in the Phnom Penh Chamkarmon district. The budget hotel will be centrally located and close to key attractions such as the Independence Monument, the National Museum of Cambodia, the Royal Palace, and the Central Market.

Accor has five hotels in the Kingdom under the Raffles, Sofitel, and ibis Styles brands in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. They have a pipeline of four committed projects across the country.

International Hotel Brands Coming to Cambodia 2022
As far back as 2017, Accor had announced an ibis hotel set to open in Cambodia as well as others under the Novotel brand. The latter is still in development in Phnom Penh. The Phnom Penh Hotel Market Update 2020 reported there were 313 hotels with 19,337 keys and 523 guests houses in Phnom Penh in 2020. At the time, 15 new hotels were in the pipeline offering 7,849 keys. Several international hotels were in the pipeline for Cambodia before the impact of COVID-19, with many delayed as a result. This year alone, we have already seen announcements for hotels launching in Cambodia in 2022 including:- Frasers Hospitality (three hotels)
