IBC To Host First International Business Summit In Cambodia
Hundreds of visitors are expected to attend the inaugural Cambodia International Business Summit, which will be hosted by the International Business Chamber of Cambodia (IBC) in Phnom Penh on February 14 and 15 next year.
“We will have a plenary section for all the delegates and then we will have a breakout session on specific topics,” IBC chairman Bretton G. Sciaroni said yesterday, adding that these topics would range from hospitality, industry, food and beverages, education, manufacturing, IT, outsourcing and digital technologies, law, tax and governance to agriculture and doing business in Asia. The chamber, which comprises more than 120 predominantly Cambodian members, organizes international business and investment conferences every two years to help build networking, enhance advocacy, bring new foreign direct investment to Cambodia and promote Cambodia’s image on the international stage.
According to Pierre Tami, chairman of the IBC’s investment conference committee, the summit will be set in the context of ASEAN as Cambodia is now the seventh largest economic country in the region, with plans to be the fourth largest by 2050. “During this year’s Cambodia International Business Summit, we plan to highlight the Kingdom’s unique position as a strategic investment destination in the heart of ASEAN,” said Tami.
