Cycling Green Wonderland & Glow Run Wonderland: Metfone Engages In Sports Activities For A Greener Environment In Cambodia
From August 23-24, 2024, Metfone, in collaboration with the APSARA National Authority and various partners such as Champion, Hi-Tech, Nham24 & Kospet, organised a green cycling event and ‘Glow Run’ event at the Angkor Heritage Site in Siem Reap, combining sports with environmental protection.
For its ‘Cycling Green Wonderland’, Metfone planted over 700 trees within the Angkor Heritage Site, expressing the company's commitment to environmental protection and corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. More than 300 participants also cycled a 16 km route around the site, spreading the message of green living, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and contributing to the mission of environmental protection in Cambodia.
‘Glow Run Wonderland’ meanwhile brought forth a new experience, marking the first time a night run has been organised within the Angkor Heritage Site. The event was aimed at promoting night tourism services and expanding the existing tourism offerings in Siem Reap.
“For many years, Metfone has focused on sustainable development and green growth. Through this program, we aim not only to contribute to the ecosystem of the Angkor Heritage Site but also to strongly spread the message of environmental protection to the community," shared Metfone’s Head of Marketing, Le Duc Anh.
Metfone has expressed a commitment to continuing its support for sports activities that promote environmental conservation, not only in Angkor but across Cambodia, helping to preserve and maintain natural beauty for future generations.
