The Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX) today launched My First Stock 2025 at AEON Mall Phnom Penh, an annual investor education programme aimed at encouraging wider public participation in Cambodia’s growing securities market.

The initiative continues CSX’s efforts from previous years, offering zero commission fees for first-time stock investors. This year’s programme also featured the official release of a newly upgraded CSX Trade mobile application, designed with enhanced features to improve trading accessibility and user experience.

The event gathered participation from listed companies, securities firms, and financial institutions, including Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority, Phnom Penh Autonomous Port, Sihanoukville Autonomous Port, MJQ Education, ACLEDA Bank, and others.

Stock market offers rising opportunities

Speaking at the event, Dr. In Channy, President and Group Managing Director of ACLEDA Bank, highlighted the importance of capital markets in economic development and the increasing opportunities for Cambodians to diversify their investments.

“With the growth of the Cambodian stock market, people now have more investment options,” he said. “Beyond bank deposits, they can now invest in stocks, which can be bought and sold far more quickly than other assets that may take years [to liquidate].”

ACLEDA Bank, amongst the largest listed companies on CSX by market capitalisation, has recorded over 12 per cent asset growth over the past six years.

Market growth and investor confidence

CSX CEO Hong Sok Hour acknowledged that progress has taken time but remains optimistic about long-term development.

“The stock market has been progressing, although slower than we initially hoped,” he said. “We now have 11 equity-listed companies and 14 corporate bond issuers. Together, these 25 issuers have raised around USD 650 million."

As of late October 2025, CSX counted more than 68,000 investor accounts, with expectations of reaching at least 70,000 accounts by the end of the year.

“We have faced a challenging period with more sellers than buyers, which has pressured prices, but the market will not stay down forever. This represents a golden opportunity for long-term investors,” he added. “Investing in CSX not only benefits individual investors, but it also supports national economic growth, business expansion, job creation, and exports.”

Activities continue through the weekend

The My First Stock 2025 exhibition and investor engagement activities will continue for two more days, from 29–30 November, 2025.
