Informa Markets Cambodia (AMB Tarsus Exhibitions (Cambodia) Pte Ltd) held a press conference on August 7, 2024 to share a sneak peek into the upcoming CAMFOOD & CAMHOTEL 2024 Expo and National Culinary Competition 2024, scheduled for November 6-8 at the Diamond Island Convention & Exhibition Centre in Phnom Penh. 

CAMFOOD & CAMHOTEL 2024 is Cambodia’s largest international hotel, restaurant, catering and food service supplies show, seeking to transform Phnom Penh into a vibrant hub of world-class cuisine and cutting-edge hospitality trends. 

Key figures from Cambodia's hospitality and tourism sectors gathered at a press conference organised at the Academy of Culinary Arts Cambodia to generate excitement for the event. These figures included representatives from the Cambodia Tourism Federation, Professional Institute of Excellence Association, Cambodia Restaurant Association, Cambodia Chefs' Society, Cambodia Hotel Association, Cambodia Spa and Wellness Association, and the Academy of Culinary Arts itself. 

Alice Lem, Event & Business Development Director for Malaysia & Cambodia at Informa Markets, announced that CAMFOOD & CAMHOTEL 2024 will feature over 150 exhibitors and is expected to attract more than 12,000 visitors. 

"This landmark event reflects the robust growth and immense potential of Cambodia's hospitality industry," she stated. 

“Cambodia’s hospitality and culinary sectors are experiencing unprecedented growth, fuelled by rising tourism and an expanding domestic market," added Din Somethearith, President of the Cambodia Tourism Federation. “This exhibition is strategically positioned to capitalise on the increased investment in tourism infrastructure, and growing appreciation for international cuisine.”

The exhibition is set to spotlight three main profiles:

  • Wedding cake design
  • Hospitality skills, including bed making, floral arrangement, sommelier recommendations and table setting. 

"This year's National Culinary Competition will push the boundaries of culinary excellence. We've designed challenges that test technical skills and celebrate Cambodia's rich culinary heritage and fusion with international cuisine," shared Song Teng, President of the Cambodia Chefs' Society.

The competition is made possible through collaborations with key industry partners including KSLM, USA Poultry, CAPFISH CAPTURE-UNIDO, and HITEC Water.
