Cambodia Airways And AirAsia MOVE Partner To Improve Customer Booking Experience

AirAsia MOVE and Cambodia Airways have signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 18 December 2024 to offer “enhanced travel experience through easy flight booking along with other services”.

The press release from AirAsia MOVE suggests that the partnership will allow customers to book flights for Cambodia Airways through its app, which also allows for other booking of other services such as accommodation. The statement adds that there are 15 million monthly average users on the app and they partner directly with over 700 other airlines such as Citilink, ANA, Air Mauritius, Etihad etc.

Nadia Omer, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia MOVE, said: “We are thrilled to continue expanding our list of direct airline partners by onboarding another renowned airline, Cambodia Airways. We would like to thank Cambodia Airways for trusting us to market their route network spanning continents to over 15 million monthly active users on our platform, and we look forward to working closely together to promote Cambodia to all travellers, especially in ASEAN."

Cambodia Airways Co., Ltd. was established in September 2017, and launched its inaugural flight on July 10, 2018, flying from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap.  They operate Airbus A319 and Airbus A320 aircraft and offer domestic and international round-trip routes from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, Singapore, Seoul, Bangkok, Palau, Hong Kong, Macau, Taipei, Beijing, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Wenzhou, Fuzhou etc.

In 2024, the Cambodian airline has signalled its intention to list on the NASDAQ IPO with the latest filing in October 2024 indicating the Cambodia-based airline plans to now raise USD $45 million by offering 10 million shares at a price range of USD $4-5.

Cambodia Airways currently allows for flight bookings through its website and third-party apps such as Trip.com but does not have a booking app of its own.
