ByteDC Launches First High-Performance Sovereign Cloud in Cambodia

ByteDC Solutions Co., Ltd., a premier Tier III data centre in Cambodia, officially announced the launch of ByteDC Cloud on the sidelines of the Digital Government Forum (DGF) 2025.

ByteDC Cloud is the first high-performance sovereign cloud in Cambodia, powered by Huawei Cloud Stack (HCS). This sovereign cloud-native platform is designed for government ministries, regulators, banks, and enterprises that require trusted in-country infrastructure, with the elasticity, automation, and Al capabilities of global cloud technology.

“Five years ago, we had a vision to help shape the digital infrastructure of Cambodia. From scratch, we started to build data centres to host all the data in Cambodia," remarked Bob Lim, CEO of ByteDC Solutions. "Because of the rapid growth of additional infrastructure over the last few years, we started to adopt cloud services. Right now, we are the only company to offer first class private cloud stack services in Cambodia.”

Underlining the importance of private cloud services for a country like Cambodia, Erya Houn Heng, COO at ByteDC, said: 

With private cloud, data stays in Cambodia. If sensitive data is hosted outside, and if anything goes wrong, like the border conflict happening now, then our data is left within another country’s jurisdiction and we have no data sovereignty. But when we have a private cloud, all sensitive data stays in the country, and that makes Cambodia independent.

He added that the existence of ByteDC Cloud will also help companies speed up the process of developing new applications and systems that require local data hosting, thus ensuring faster digital transformation.

Following the soft-launch of ByteDC Cloud at DGF, the cloud service is expected to be fully released by the first quarter of 2026.
