B2B Cambodia is expanding its focus in the region with the launch of the first ‘Vietnam Series’, featuring in-depth interviews with experts and leaders of Vietnam's vibrant business community.
To kick things off, we sat down with Mark Gillin, Chair of AmCham Vietnam (HMCM) and Founder of America Indochina Management (AIM), who has been in Vietnam for 32 years, and doing business in Cambodia for 28 years.
Part 1 of our interview delves into Gillin’s background and what brought him to Asia, how doing business in Cambodia has changed over the past three decades, and how manufacturing in Vietnam has transformed into a more high-tech, value-added sector.
Watch Part 2 of the interview below:
Part 2 touches on how Cambodia could potentially learn from Vietnam's example and upskill its manufacturing base, with Gillin stressing the need for Cambodia to understand its comparative advantages and find its own niche. Gillin also shares his perspective on how U.S. tariffs on Vietnam will eventually pan out.
