This is a B2B Cambodia Market Update for 25 December 2024, reviewing the Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX) and global markets.

- The Cambodia Securities Exchange Index was up 1.33 points, or 0.33% to 402.04.
- Total trade volume was up with 49,924 shares changing hands at a total value of 270 million KHR or approximately $67,350 US dollars.
- On the main board, two stocks were up. Leading the market was ACLEDA Bank, up 1.16% or 80 KHR to 6,980 KHR per share, followed by the Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority, which was up 0.32% or 20 KHR to 6,220 KHR per share.
- Only one stock, Pestech Cambodia, was down, dropping 0.40% or 10 KHR to 2,460 KHR per share. Meanwhile, the six remaining stocks on the main board stayed flat.
- Over on the growth board, DBD Engineering was up 0.50% or 10 KHR to 2,030 KHR per share, while JS Land stayed flat at 3,430 KHR.
- ACLEDA Bank once again recorded the highest trade volume of the day, with 26,358 shares changing hands at a total value of 183 million KHR or around $45,600 US dollars, roughly 53% of total shares traded on December 25th.
- CAMGSM recorded the second highest trade volume of the day with 11,031 shares changing hands at a total value of 26.7 million KHR or $6,666 US dollars, approximately 22% of Wednesday’s trade volume.
- In other market news, Golden Tree Co.,Ltd. has released its unofficial third quarterly report for 2024, reporting a total revenue of roughly $462,700 US dollars, which is a $248,000 dollar decrease from the total revenue recorded in the third quarter of 2023. The company also reported an increase in net loss, a decrease in total assets and a decrease in total equities. Overall, Golden Tree Co., Ltd.’s Gross Profit Margin in Q3 of 2024 was 55.56%, while its Net Profit Margin was -248.49%.
- Exchange rate, the KHR to USD was strengthened to 4,018 KHR per USD, while the USD index was slightly down to 108.12.
- Looking at global commodities, Brent crude picked up 6 cents to $73.23 US dollars per barrel, while U.S. benchmark crude oil was up 93 cents at $70.17 US dollars per barrel.
- There is no precious metals report this December 25th as most markets were closed for the Christmas holiday.
- Shares slipped in Tokyo and Shanghai, two of only a handful of world markets open on Christmas day. U.S. stock markets were closed early on Tuesday, and remained closed on Wednesday.
- Japan’s Nikkei 225 index edged 0.1% lower to 38,997.02, while the Shanghai Composite index lost 0.2% to 3,387.41.
- The U.S. stock and bond markets will reopen on Thursday, December 26th, and it will be business as usual on Wall Street for a few days. The next scheduled stock market closure is on January 1, 2025, in observance of the new year.
