Mr Nick Brodie, Director DFAT Child Protection Compliance Section, Canberra, will be visiting Cambodia in early June. He will be providing training to DFAT staff and implementing partners (for example, NGOs) on DFAT’s Protection Policy. Any implementing partners receiving funding from Australian aid must comply with our policy; further information is at: http://dfat.gov.au/about-us/publications/Pages/child-protection-policy.aspx. Nick will also meet with Cambodia Government, civil society, other bilateral and multilateral donors to discuss child protection and child welfare issues in Cambodia. While Australian business are in no way bound by DFAT's Child Protection Policy, there is mutual benefit in an exchange of ideas, experiences and policy positions between DFAT and Australian business interests in Cambodia. To help both parties better manage child protection and child welfare issues in their respective operations and programs.
