Venue. Raffles Le Royal Hotel.
Date. Nov, 17 2015 Time.
Address. Phnom Penh
Jointly organised by the British Embassy Phnom Penh, BritCham Cambodia and the Cambodian Institute for Cooperation and Peace (CICP), we would like to welcome you to a public lecture on the UK & Asia Pacific in the 21st Century, with Guest Speaker Mr. Stephen Lillie, Director for Asia Pacific at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office.
Over the past six years the British government has refocused its diplomatic effort and significantly upgraded its engagement with the Asia Pacific region. As well as reinvesting in old friendships, Britain is building new networks for the 21st century in the ASEAN region and throughout Asia-Pacific.
Britain’s partnerships in the Asia-Pacific region rest on three pillars: strong people-to-people links and deep bilateral relationships; a shared vision of free trade and economic openness; and common recognition of our responsibilities to maintain the rules-based international system which protects our shared interests.
Fresh from overseeing the State Visit to London of President Xi Jinping of the P.R. of China, Stephen Lillie will present on the challenges and opportunities for Britain in Asia-Pacific in the interlinked areas of prosperity, security and commerce.
The event will take place on Tuesday 17th November at the Raffles Le Royal Hotel. Attendance is complimentary but places are limited.
