Dear Members and Partners of EuroCham Cambodia,
EuroCham is pleased to invite you to a EuroCham Seminar on PSA in Cambodia. The event is being organised in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB). It will be held from 4.00 pm till 6.30 pm at InterContinental Phnom Penh Hotel on Wednesday, March 5th.
ADB carries out Private Sector Assessments (PSAs) to identify constraints and opportunities for Private Sector Development (PSD) in Developing Member Countries (DMCs). PSAs serve as the basis for formulating the Country Strategy and Program, including strategic PSD projects. This PSA for Cambodia describes the macroeconomic background in the country, assesses challenges and opportunities for PSD, and contains recommendations for long-term and operational priorities for the development of the private sector. PSAs are based on available country data, existing studies, sample surveys, assessments, and discussions with stakeholders.
Mr Peter Brimble, Deputy Country Director in Cambodia, Senior Country Economist, Cambodia Resident Mission (CARM) at Asian Development Bank, will start a dicussion on the PSA initiative by ADB, presenting their meaning for companies based in Cambodia. Mr Brimble has worked extensively in Asia (for the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank, the United Nations, and bilateral aid agencies) on public policy issues largely related to private sector development, investment promotion, regional cooperation, and human resource development.
