Top Hong Kong Business School HKUST Partners With CamTech University to Develop Local Executive Programs

CamTech University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HKUST Business School, a globally recognised institution based in Hong Kong, renowned for its MBA program ranked 7th in Asia. The collaboration aims to develop executive programs tailored to Cambodian professionals and promote business leadership and entrepreneurship.
The partnership was formalised by Prof. Dr. Fong Yuk Fai, Associate Dean of the HKUST Business School, and Dr. Leng Phirom, Vice President for Academic Affairs at CamTech University.
Expanding Business Education Opportunities for Cambodian Professionals
In addition to this collaboration, the initiative seeks to advance research and provide support for family businesses — an area essential to Cambodia's private sector. It launched with a half-day workshop co-hosted by CamTech and HKUST, titled “Cambodian Family Business: Navigating Legacy Across Generations”. The event brought together entrepreneurs, academics, and students to explore the challenges and opportunities of sustaining family-run enterprises across generations, particularly amid rapidly evolving regional markets.
“Nurturing future business leaders requires more than theory—it demands access to global expertise and practical insight,” said Dr. Sothy Khieng, President of CamTech University. “Through this partnership with HKUST Business School, we are taking a meaningful step in preparing Cambodian professionals for leadership in a dynamic regional economy.”
CamTech University is supported by leading Cambodian business groups, including Overseas Cambodian Investment Corporation (OCIC) and ISI Group, whose support reflects a strong private sector commitment to higher education. Representing OCIC was Thierry Tea, Vice President, while Kan Leng, CEO and CamTech Founding Board Member, represented ISI Group, whose ventures include ISI Steel, Brown Coffee, and the ISI Special Economic Zone.

Linking Education with Cambodia’s Infrastructure and Innovation Priorities
