The Singapore Business Chamber in Cambodia Association (SBCCA) was officially launched on April 26, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh, with the vision to connect, represent, and support Singaporean enterprises while bridging opportunities between Cambodia, Singapore, and the broader global market.

The launch was presided over by H.E. Ly Thuch, Senior Minister; Albert Ang, Honorary Chairman of the SCCA; and Tan Wee Pin, Chairman of the SBCCA. Speaking with B2B Cambodia, Tan Wee Pin shared that the establishment of the SBCCA was inspired by the growing presence of Singaporean businesses in the Kingdom.

“We recognised the need for a strong, united platform to connect, support, and empower our community while fostering trust and collaboration between Singapore and Cambodia,” he said.

He added that SBCCA membership comprises various industries, including education, IT, manufacturing, banking, and more.

“All the members have been in Cambodia for many years, so we hope to help new business partners come in and link up with Cambodian business partners, enabling them to unlock and create new business opportunities,” said Tan.

During his remarks, Senior Minister Ly Thuch underlined how the formation of this new association highlights the deep historical and economic ties between Cambodia and Singapore, further noting that Singapore's investments in Cambodia have played a significant role in the country's rebuilding after the war.

“Our relationship with Singapore has never been merely transactional, it has transformed since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1995,” he said. “Today, in this dynamic partnership, we continue to move from strength to strength.”

The Senior Minister stressed that this enduring relationship was built on a foundation of innovation as well as the legacy of His Majesty, the late King Father Norodom Sihanouk, and the late Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew.

The SBCCA launch event also marked the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) – one between the SBCCA, SIM Academy, and SLA Singapore Learning Academy (SLA), to bring SkillsFuture funding to Singaporeans in Cambodia and offer a suite of reskilling and upskilling initiatives to support talent development in both countries; and another between the SBCCA and Endeavour Consulting, focusing on expanding access to higher education through advisory services, planning support, and tailored academic pathways for individuals and organisations.

In 2023, Singapore was Cambodia’s ninth-largest trading partner, with bilateral trade amounting to almost USD 920 million. Cambodia's exports to Singapore were valued at over USD 51 million, while imports from Singapore exceeded USD 866 million.
