LEGAL UPDATE: Commercial Arbitration Law – With Sethalay Law Office

In B2B Cambodia's 'Legal Update' we delve into the latest legal changes and developments in Cambodia's laws and regulations with key experts in the field.

In Episode 1, we discuss Commercial Arbitration Law with Sok Vanseka, Managing Partner at Sethalay Law Office.

Part 1 of the interview covers the governance and implementation of Commercial Arbitration Law in Cambodia. In addition to having its own national commercial arbitration law, Cambodia is also party to the Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards (New York Convention).

Cambodia also also has its own National Commercial Arbitration Centre (NCAC). Arbitration can be ad hoc or centre-appointed, with flexible procedures and rules.

Arbitrators in Cambodia must undergo training and pass an exam to become members of NCAC.
